There's one thing that makes more of a difference to our organisation than anything else: our people. Read what real employees say about real jobs in the real world.
"I have a great work life balance and Newsquest has been pivotal in my career success."
"I manage various accounts in and around Oxfordshire creating solutions to help them reach more customers."
"Most of my hobbies are based around media related activities, such as building websites, designing custom DVD / Blu Ray covers, researching and designing ebooks on film and film production."
We want our reporters at Newsquest to be the best in the business - so we ensure they’ve had the gold standard training to achieve that. It doesn’t matter how skilled you are when you start at Newsquest in your journey to journalism as we have an outstanding apprentice scheme from school leavers age.
All of our apprentices receive the NCTJ industry gold standard tuition for their diploma in journalism with on the job training mixed with boot camps at colleges and universities across the UK. The training includes making sure our journalists have all the print and digital skills necessary as well as handle all the latest technology so they’re able to publish their fantastic stories across a range of platforms.
Once qualified as a trainee reporter within two years this is followed by the NQJ which will result in being a fully qualified senior journalist. We also welcome those with the NCTJ diploma already achieved at college or university and those journalists will also be put through the NQJ to become fully qualified.
So whatever entry level you are we can provide the best possible industry training so you can join our team of award winning journalists and make a real difference.
Our LocaliQ online learning platform, AcademyiQ, gives our salespeople everything they need to develop their knowledge and skills at a time and pace that suits them.
AcademyiQ houses a wealth of resources from online courses, videos, podcasts and useful articles covering everything from our fantastic LOCALiQ solutions to Leadership in the digital age.
As the UK's leading regional publisher we are committed to developing the data skills of our journalists in our newsrooms as a key part of our editorial strategy - to create a culture of agenda-setting data investigative journalism. In partnership with the BBC, journalists from Newsquest have been seconded to Birmingham to learn from the broadcaster’s best data journalists.
We have also formed a Data Investigations Unit and already trained some of our talented reporters in our news rooms who are now creating compelling content group-wide and also work with other partnership publishers to share data-led content across the UK.
